Born in Geneva, Anne Bassand studied the harp with Catherine Eisenhoffer at the conservatory of her hometown, then continued with Marie-Claire Jamet at the Ecole Normale de Paris, before finishing her studies with Susann McDonald at the University of Indiana.
She has also benefitted from the teaching of Pierre Jamet and the pianist Gyorgy Sebok, and in 1992 was prize winner of the International Harp Competition in the United States. A passionate performer of contemporary music, Anne is an active member of the Ensemble Contrechamps, and has recorded numerous CDs with various groups. She currently teaches harp at the Musikhochschule of Lucerne and chamber music at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne.
