Susanne Peters (born 1988 in Saarbrücken, Germany) is a flutist dedicated to the performance of contemporary music. She obtained her Bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands, where she studied with Kersten McCall and was a member of the Ligeti Academy of the ASKO / Schoenberg Ensemble.
She continued her studies with Pirmin Grehl at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, obtaining a Master's degree with distinction in the interpretation of contemporary music.
Susanne has been involved in contemporary music at a professional level since the beginning of her studies in the Netherlands, notably with the ASKO / Schoenberg Ensemble and in the AAA series of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Since arriving in Switzerland, she has performed at the Lucerne Festival and the Lucerne Festival Academy, as well as with the Ensemble Contrechamps in Geneva, the NEC in La Chaux-de-Fonds and the Ensemble Proton in Bern. She is a member of Collegium Novum Zurich and a founding member of Oerknal! an ensemble based in the Netherlands.
Susanne is active in several chamber music groups and has a particular passion for introducing young audiences to the world of contemporary music. She was able to develop her orchestral skills with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester Akademie during the 2013-2014 season. Susanne currently lives between Basel and Amsterdam.
