Around the Correspondances by Pierre Boulez, Éditions Contrechamps/Philharmonie de Paris (book release).

Our third meeting is linked to the publication of two correspondences by Pierre Boulez to mark the hundredth anniversary of his birth: one with Pierre Souvtchinsky, co-creator of the Domaine musical concerts and a loyal friend; the other with André Souris and Henri Pousseur, two Belgian composers.

Both began in the 1940s, when Boulez was just over twenty years old, and they are a marvellous testimony to his passion for modernity, his battles against academicism, inertia and mediocrity, his passionate search for a new language, his intellectual curiosity, his loyalty in friendship and the purity of his approach, free from all compromise.

Philippe Albèra and Gabriela Elgarrista are responsible for the first, published in association with the Philharmonie de Paris, and Pascal Decroupet for the second. They will be presenting the content of these colourful exchanges.
