Around the Écrits by Arnold Schönberg, translated by Jean-Pierre Collot, Éditions Contrechamps / Philharmonie de Paris (book release). The first meeting concerns the monumental edition of Arnold Schönberg's writings, co-published with the Philharmonie de Paris to mark the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth. This edition brings together more than 250 texts, many of them previously unpublished in French. We will discover the thousand and one faces of an artist who also wanted to be considered as a writer: fictional texts as well as those on music, testimonies, polemics, autobiographical or political texts, aphorisms, etc., cross and respond to each other. Our guest will be Jean-Pierre Collot, an admirable pianist and subtle translator (see also his edition of the Youdina-Souvtchinsky correspondence), who has been responsible for researching and translating this immense corpus.
