This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss with Georges Starobinski and Philippe Dinkel their new translation of Alban Berg's writings, which has been expanded to include many texts previously unpublished in French. Why re-translate Berg? Quite simply because the existing translation was imprecise, incomplete and faulty in many places. Berg analyses some of Schönberg's works, discusses his own, and Wozzeck in particular, argues about modern music, and pays tribute to some of the personalities who left their mark on him. An indispensable collection of reflections for anyone interested in his music!
