Born in 1980, Clement Power studied at Cambridge University and at the Royal College of Music of London. He subsequently developed his talents as assistant conductor of the London Philharmonic and the Ensemble Intercontemporain.

Well known for his interpretations of the important works of the Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries, Clement Power works frequently with the major contemporary music ensembles including Klangforum Wien or Musikfabrik in Cologne.

He has also conducted the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Philharmonic, the BBC Scottish, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Radio-Sinfonieorchester of Stuttgart, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, the Luxembourg Philharmonic, the Orchestre de Bretagne, l’Ensemble Modern, Avanti!, the Chamber Orchestra, the Ictus Ensemble, the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Munich Chamber Orchestra.

Clement ¨Power has been invited by numerous festivals, including those of Lucerne, Damstadt, Aldeburgh, the Biennale of Salzbourg, the Wien Modern, Ircam Agora or the Acht Bruecken Festival.

He has led the premieres of over two hundred composers such as Georg Friedrich Haas, Peter Eôtvôs or Benedict Mason, as well as commissions for ensemble by HarrybPartch. In addition, he led the first performance of the opera Hypermusicby Hector Parra and the Ensemble Intercontemporain in the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Martaby Wolfgang Mitterer at the Lille Opera and Liza Lim’s Tree of Codesat the Cologne Opera.
